Over the years, we have been engaged as a European Business Development expert with respect to the establishment ( Greenfield, Brownfield, M&A) of Oil and Chemical logistics infrastructure, notably in the tank storage and associated business fields. Downstream avails of an extensive international network of oil/chemical logistics experts.
Short description of all partners: Rob Luijendijk has been a Partner of Downstream since April 2003. Prior to that, from November 2000, he worked for another Dutch company in the tank storage industry that, over the years, established a close relationship with Downstream which resulted in becoming a shareholder in this company in 2003. Rob Luijendijk has gained a substantial amount of experience in the oil/chemical logistics industry since the start of his career with Nedlloyd in 1976. He held the position of Manager Inland Barging Department with Gebr. Broere from 1981 till 1993. He subsequently joined GATX Terminals Corporation as Director European Business Development until GATX Terminals Corporation was dissolved in 2000. Rob Luijendijk currently also holds the position of Marketing Director of PortStorage Group, a subsidiary of Downstream. Riekes Lie has been a partner of
Downstream since 2006. He has a master degree in civil engineering from
Delft University (1976). He started his career at Shell as a pipeline
engineer, and he gained eighteen years of international management experience
in the oil & gas sector. In 1993 he became board member of the Esha
group, a family owned company active in bitumen, with prime responsibility
for the group’s international bitumen refinery and emulsion business.
Short description of all associates: Jan Brouwer launched Downstream in 1999. He spent most of his career with Royal Pakhoed, currently known as Royal Vopak, and the last ten years as President of Paktank International. Paktank was the largest tank storage company in the world and he often served as Board Member in Paktank’s international joint ventures. Today he is still involved in a number of international activities, paid and non-paid, speaker at conferences, lead partner in logistic studies, and, for the past 15 years, he has been serving as Honorary Consul for Estonia. Jan Brouwer, who studied law at Leiden University from 1960 to 1967, currently acts as an advisor to Downstream. OOI Chwee Kim is located in Singapore and oversees business development in Asia. Prior to this, he was a Director and President of Store + Deliver + Logistics Pte Ltd., a company specializing in chemical warehousing and logistics in Singapore. Before that he was the Managing Director, Asia Operations and Development of GATX Terminals Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of GATX Corporation. He was actively involved in industry as the Chairman of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council from 1993 to 2006 and a council member of the Singapore Manufacturers Federation from 2000 to 2006. In community service, he is the current Chairman of Jurong Football Club. He was also a past council member of the South-east Community Development Council and Football Association of Singapore. He was bestowed the Pingat Bakit Masyarakat (PBM), the public service medal for social and community service by the President of Singapore in 1995. OOI Chwee Kim is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. |
